Cuticle Oil - Is it really that important?

Did you know that applying cuticle oil can increase the circulation around your nails, leading to stronger and longer growing nails? It can also protect your nail and cuticle agaisnt trauma, Who knew?

Well, when you see somoene with helathy, gorgeosu nails I bet you think ' She goes to the salon on a regular basis' 'She definatley doesnt do the housework'. Ever stopped to think she just has a secret weapon, which isn't really a secret at all. Yes just a little bit of cuticle oil can have an HUGE impact on the end result of your manicure.

Okay so Cuticle Oil will NOT fix your problems over night, you need to stop those bad habits first. But correct use and you will start to see it working it magic, with nail growth and strengthening your nails.

Cuticle Oil Benefits

Cuticle oil is like an intense moisturiser for your nails and cuticles. Most commonly this will be made up of a plant based carrier oil, with added vitamins and essential oils.

Regular use of the oil can help improve the apperance and overall health of your nails. It can also keep that fresh manicure looking shiner and lasting longer *runs off to order some more during the current time with money being tighter. Fresh mani lasting longer = Less money outgoing...win win*

Every find that in the cold months your skin is super dry, and you get way more hangnails (you know that horrible sore skin on the very edge of the nail), cuticle oil can help prevent that scaley cuticle look with sore hangnails. We drink water to keep us hydrated, cuticle oil is the best we to hyrdate our nails.

Did you know its also great for treating cracked nails, Ingrown nails and even fungal infections. Obviously if you think you have a fungal infection please visit your GP, I am not here to treat that!

Perfect Formula Daily Moisture

This little gem really surprised me, as I first bought this when in Target in New Orleans YEARS ago. Its super moisturising, but yet not as oily as the other cuticle oils that you get out there. The bottles that I buy are the small 5ml ones, as I feel they are great for keeping in my handbag or at my desk.

If you want to get your hands on one of these keep your eyes peeled on QVC because they ar $200 to order directly with them and you have to add shipping costs to that too. Or If you look at HouseofBeautyWorks.com you will find that they sell them as part of a nail set for around £24, and the clear polishes it comes with are AMAZING.

Bluesky Cuticle Oil

If someone had to ask me to pick my favourite oil due to the price, this would be the one. They come in 10ml bottles and they are super nourishing. This is also my go to nail brand in the salon, so for me it makes sense. The design is super cute too as it just like a nail polish bottle with the built in brush (I swap the brush for a pippette in the salon).

These have to be the easiest to get your hands on too, I order mine from DivinebeautyUK.co.uk but they are sold on Amazon and Ebay too. At just £6.50 for this its deinitley a steal.

FM Cuticle & Nail Cream

If you don't like the though of an oil this cream does the same job, if not better thasome of the oils available. This is a great little step you can do before moisturising your hands to avoid that 'greasy' feel that many women hate. The cream is packed full of Vitamin A & E and Shea butter which are great at regenerating the nail and softening that pesky cuticle.

Jessica Phenomen Oil

This has to be one of the nicest smelling products out there in my opinon! One of the first nail and cuticle oils to be produced you can see why its so popular with many salons and nail techs. The best thing about this brand is that it comes in 2 sizes 7.4ml for £9.50 and 14.8ml £14.50, perfect if you want to try before you buy.

Don't forget that whilst you are in the salon having your nails don't have the OPI nail pens for sale. These are great for personal use, and so easy to use. The pens hold 5ml of liquid, which is perfect for daily use between nail appointments.
